I’ve thought of 5 reasons why I’m such a big fan of gmarket =D

(1) Items are priced reasonably!

The items on gmarket are really cheap, sometimes, I feel that it is even cheaper than the retail price in Korea due to the various discounts available! And many of these items are entitled to free domestic shipping~
Also, there are some items which are slightly expensive.. But usually for the expensive items, the quality is really true to its price!

(2) Service provided by sellers have improved a lot

Sometimes, I will type out an “inquiry” to the seller to ask about the product. These questions include whether a particular item will be re-stocked, or whether the free gift is still available, or what material is the item made of. Compared to the service one year ago, the sellers have became rather efficient and take about 1~3 days before they reply me.. The standard of english has really improved a lot! In the past, I once received a string of korean words which translated to “I do not speak english.” and no proper answer was provided. However, in the past few months, most of my replies were in English that I could understand and I guess they have really put in a lot of effort in this aspect.

(3) Efficient Delivery Speed

The speed of delivery has increased a lot since I first started one year ago~~ Now,  it only takes about 7 to 14 days for my parcel to arrives! The quickest record I had was only 6 days!!
G Market Warehouse packs the parcel really fast! Usually once all the items have arrived in the warehouse, the parcel is shipped out on the day itself and I will receive the parcel in 3~5 days after that.. Subjected to my own local post office delivery speed.

(4) Discounts, Coupons & Promotions & More Discounts & Coupons & More..

Today, there are so many discounts available!

First is the shipping promotion which lasted since December, and it has been extended till February. It makes it very worthwhile to purchase in bulk!!

I’m glad I’m living in countries that are entitled for the promotion..

Also, the shipping rewards is something that I use very frequently!! You only have to pay 10,000W for 50,000W of shopping credit. This means that you save  40,000W~ And it spans over 3 months.. I have always manage to finish using my rewards!

Furthermore, you can take part in GLotto & Click Discounts Coupons to “Draw” for the coupons & Take part in the Roulette & also collect G Stamps which can allow you to exchange for even more coupons!!

There’s also mileage available and you can collect 9,000 mileage and exchange it for the 50,000W shopping rewards.

Now, I would like to share a few of my excellent buys from gmarket~~

(1) KPOP 2012 Season Greetings & Diary/Calendar Set

I get my items either from synarra or 음반몰 

My favourite buy was of course 2PM 2012 Season Greetings! 

And when you open it, it looks like this..

Comes with a calendar, Diary, Postcard, Stickers and this white plastic bag printed with ’2PM’, and of course, not forgetting the awesome poster.

Why is it so awesome? Look at the diary. On khun’s birthday, there’s his face!! This diary is really really really very pretty.

And the photos are like all new~~ *ahem* and it’s really really really pretty.

And compared to all the other season greetings, it is the cheapest.. Probably because they released the item very late, compared to all the other groups.. and thus they have to lower the price to attract more people to buy.. but omg, i’m really ultimate satisfied with this buy.

Another popular buy was SHINee’s 2012 Diary.. Really reasonable at a price of 14,000W and it comes with 15 post cards!

Not forgetting their fellow label mates~~ In the month of December, on top of the diaries and the calendars, there were so many things to purchase~~ SM Town Winter album, SHINee World Concert Photobook & SS3 DVD..

Super Junior’s diary is extremely pretty.. Look at the array of postcards!! Each comes with a printed fan sign~~

**ALL items were delivered by the seller on the release date ^_^ which made my orders really fast! Some items were even delivered one day before!

To add on to my KPOP collection, I bought the 2PM Star cards (from synarra) as well!

It’s really exciting to open packets after packets.. it’s an expensive thrill of joy. hahaha.

Alright.. enough of KPOP! My next best buy of the year was..

50cm rilakkuma aka relaxing bear from here. It came with mr mu. a vegetable toy which i gave away.

The material is really very soft~ and very similar to the one I bought in Japan.. Only difference is that the hands and the legs don’t have the bean thingy. So i’m not exactly sure if it is 100% authentic. But other than that, the texture and everything is totally the same!!

Seriously contemplating if i should buy a bigger rilakkuma..

this was a camera bag bought for a friend..

Seller was nice and understanding. I wanted the “tan” colour but it as out of stock so i posted an inquiry and the seller got back to me and apologized, saying the “tan” colour is available but the production was not of good quality, thus they are not selling the product.

seller was really nice and hand-wrote a note in korean which obviously i can’t understand anything.. but i believe it said thank you for my purchase. haha.

bag comes with a bag-in-bag which comes with a compartment to store separate lens. this is the perfect bag for dslr-owners.

I’ve back-trekked my orders and my first order was on 28th Oct! Through this one year, i’ve made almost 20 orders from gmarket, both in Singapore and when I was in Korea.. All my friends think i’m addicted to online shopping (which is only gmarket) but oh wells~ i’m usually happy with all my buys!

I’ve decided to dedicate a post to share about my top buys in gmarket! (in no particular order)

1. Korean CDs/DVDs

They are really cheap compared to retail prices in your local music stores.

For example, SHINee’s Hello album cause 12,500W (S$15; exchange rate 1,000w = S$1.20)

In local stores like HMV or CD-rama, it would cost at least $21-$23

So, by buying from gmarket, you can save like more than 30%.

MOREOVER, some sellers would give posters and wallet photo cards as free gift! you know, receiving the random photo cards is always the HIGHLIGHT of opening the boxes containing these albums because I will always make ‘REQUESTS’ under the ‘Memo to Seller’ Section~ By the way, these photo cards are actually a gift from the seller, not the ‘official’ ones which some albums have..

Sometimes, they fulfill my requests, sometimes they don’t. But when they do, you will feel so so so happy!

2. Korean Cosmetics

The cosmetics are so so so so much cheaper than local retail prices! However, not many brands are eligible for international shipping. In the past, Etude House was eligible for international shipping but they have stopped the service (probably due to the mega savings people can get if they buy online).

It’s kind of funny how my friend showed me a picture from a random blogshop which sells items from Korea and I actually managed to find the exact same pair on gmarket! The price from the blogshop was actually marked up by like 12sgd.. Imagine how much money you saved if you just order the item from gmarket directly!!

Being unable to resist any of nichkhun’s endorsement, i decided to try this out when I as in korea and turned out to be that the smell was really good and the container was so so so so cute that my friends were blaming me because I didn’t bought any for them but guess what, they can be bought by international customers on gmarket!

If you don’t know by now, a lot of korean cosmetics do not allow for international shipping as korean prices are a lot cheaper than anywhere else. Imagine, if everyone starts buying cosmetics from gmarket and online websites from Korea, who would buy the cosmetics from their international outlets? As you can see.. every time there is a poster tube, it makes your box very huge and there is a lot of wasted space. Now I always try to consolidate my CDs and poster orders so I don’t end up wit a huge box every time..

Big Bang – Hands up! album! which was paired nicely with GD&TOP High High!
For the GDTOP album, the colour is by random and I got the gold version. My friend was really happy with the cover. YG designs are always so nice! I’m jealous. HAHAA.

Order #8 – This was a very very very very rush order.

It was made due to Etude’s house 30% offer where I practically snatched all the items that I could. I kind of stocked up on everything =/ HAHAHAHAHA. Oh wells, Just a small tip or so, I decided to give DPD shipping another try and the whole order was really messed up. There was absolutely no tracking updates after the parcel had been shipped out by the warehouse. It left be waiting in vain, not knowing which day the parcel would arrive. Delivery took almost 2 weeks and it was done by a private company, in a random van, not speedpost. I will never use DPD ever again! But seems like gmarket removed DPD’s service already. I guess there must have been quite a lot of complaints from customers. I was really really upset with DPD’s service. Maybe EMS had set the standards really too high

Haha yes it’s order 5 & order 6! Barely 3 months since I’ve started. There’s always so many things to buy! For order 5, I ordered on 23rd dec and it came on 4th Jan. For order 6, I ordered on 26th dec and it came on 6th Jan! All orders were by EMS. Everything was smooth and good for my both orders~

This box is really huge. I think it is like 1.2m * 1m.
But when I open the box, there was quite a bit of empty wasted space.

anyway just a precaution for those people buying CDs which comes with free posters. the poster tube is really huge and thus resulting in a BIG box, which might mean heavier weight and thus more expensive shipping.. so if you want to buy CDs, please make sure you buy all the CDs at one go.. if not you end up wasting money.

just a disclaimer. always check the release date before purchasing albums. i made my order on the 23rd of dec.. thinking that the release was on 23rd. however i waited and waited and it was forever ‘on request’ so i decided to drop an email to the seller, only to receive a korean reply which translated to (30 days). you know i almost freak out and wanted to cancel the order, but then i did some google research and i realise the album release date has been postponed to 30th dec. anyway, my whole parcel had to wait for this one item. otherwise i think i would have received it like 4 days earlier. but it was worth the wait! the album came with a HUGE poster. really huge and 2 photocards. although i wrote in memo and requested for yuri. but seems like they gave me the whole SNSD one instead.

on a random note, my friend told me that in korea, this album is priced at 19,000W in stores. but it’s only 16,000W online.. seems like it is cheaper to buy it online? and there is free poster and photocard! what a good buy!

i bought the AC red balm, the AC pink spot( i’m using it right now and i think it’s quite effective!) it comes with cotton swabs and a sample AC facial cleanser. all this for only 11,000W! and please, retail is like 29.90 SGD. gosh.
i also bought the collagen mask. 1,000W per piece. and it comes with a free moistful sample cleanser. honestly i have too many cleanser right now. don’t even know which one to use!

i also bought the lip perfume passionfruit flavour. honestly, i only bought it because i like passionfruit. no idea what does a lip perfume does but i just put it on randomly ;p

i also bought the etude house quick dry for nail polish and the nail polish remover. the reviews said that the nail polish remover was really good and i tried it and it’s really not bad! you don’t have to rub too hard for the nail polish to come off!

omg i’m gonna fall in love with this brand! do you see that soong joongki mask? it is FREE. WOOTS. i still don’t want to use it yet. i guess i might just keep it and look at it. LOL.
anyway, i only bought the green apple (some peeling cream). i felt that it was really effective. after using it, my face really feels like lighter and smoother. i’m not sure if i’m exaggerating but i really like it!

next i bought the AC Toner.. but i have yet to used it yet. but it was really a huge bottle (glass) which makes it quite heavy.

also, i bought the ice cream multi-play cream. i think it is a make-up base with SPF 30 but gosh it is really good! it smells totally like vanilla ice cream that i almost feel like putting it in my mouth! i’m not sure about the effects yet but gosh it smells simply too good!

i’m gonna request for more soongjoongki stuff the next time i order. :p :p :p

This time, i had 2 carts worth of orders. ordered on 4th and 7th Dec and the items arrived on 14th Dec 2010! well, my items were ready on friday and according the EMS tracking, it reached SG on sat. So i thought i would be able to get my parcel on the following Monday. I waited half a day for it but it didn’t come. It was raining quite heavily and probably they chose not to deliver. However on tuesday it came! EMS is really more reliable than DPD in my previous experience. My DPD package was not sent out for like 3 full days. All my EMS package were sent out the next day once all my domestic deliveries are done. No more DPD for me!

the size of the box did scare me. wahax. it was so so so so huge.


somehow i think i’m more excited about opening the box! There’s this feeling of excitement all the time. However this time as there were too many things to open, towards the end, I got really bored and tired. Lol. The whole process took almost an hour.

This is the third item from the left, this yellow toothpaste like thinking. After using it, I would think it is just an okay product only. I don’t use such stuff frequently but it is some greyish thing which u apply on your nose and then you start rubbing and you will start to see white stuff which I think it is the dead skin and hopefully blackheads coming out.. I am not SUPER impressed with this product and I would probably rate it 7/10.

This item is a DIY hair dye whereby you apply the dye just like the way you shampoo your hair. Inside, they provide you with one pair of gloves and some plastic for you to wear in order to protect your clothes while you are dyeing. Well, after using other brands of DIY hair dye, this is the first time I receive this plastic in a hair dye set. I would say it is really thoughtful of them to do so. It comes with a sachet of conditioner.
The hair dye colour was not effective for me, mainly because my hair is very black, and only brown can be seen under sunlight (I bought red). However, for my friend who bought exactly the same product as me, her result was quite good and the colour turned out quite well. So I guess, if your hair can take hair dye colour easily, this product shouldn’t be of any problem to you!

Second from the left: Honestly I bought this produce without knowing what it is for and I haven’t seen the effects of this sleeping mask. It is basically a layer you apply before you sleep (slightly sticky) and you wash it off the next morning (although I suspect most of it gets onto my pillow and blanket through the night). The smell is very pleasant and I just apply it randomly when I feel like it. There is a cooling feeling, and it feels really good especially if the weather is quite hot.

Big green packet: I really like this item and I use it everyday when I go back home. I guess it is sort of a wipe to wipe away all your make up/bb cream/sunblock nonsense.. I use it before I use a cleanser. I guess if you like green tea, you will like this!

Well this is my first package by EMS. it was really fast! the package was sent overseas the next day once everything arrived. it arrived in SG on a saturday and i got in on monday. really fast!

As for my second order, I made a mistake and couldn’t combine order.. Please take note before payment, that you have selected the correct shipping company. I accidentally selected DPD for my second order and thus i couldn’t combine my orders and ended up paying more.. even though i ordered these 2 orders at the same time. Had to split orders because I had more than 30 items.

Anyway, my conclusion is that I will stick to EMS.. DPD delivery was really much slower than EMS! My package was not sent out for like 3 days? I keep checking my update but they put outbound for a few days.. So overall my this delivery was much slower than the EMS package previously.
